3/7/08:  UPDATING DRAFT TEXT BELOW FOR 2008

Welcome to the Million Dollar March,

Between March 1st and December 1st, World AIDS Day 2008, a number of real estate companies across the country are participating in the "Million $ March," a friendly competition to see who can save their clients $1 million and help raise money for non-profit organizations fighting the AIDS pandemic.

Home buyer and sellers, learn how you can save $10,000 or more buying or selling your home, and at the same time help save a life or provide a shelter subsidy for AIDS orphans.

The Real Estate Cafe's goal is to host a friendly competition between it's own home buyer clients and homeowners selling "for-sale-by-owner" (FSBOs) to see who can save $1 million first,  Our twin goals are to:

HOME SELLERS

1.  Teach 50 to 100 sellers in Greater Boston how to save $1 million, or $10,000 to $20,000 each in real estate commissions, by selling their homes "for sale by owner" or by working with a new generation of fee-for-service real estate consultants and discount MLS listing services.

HOME BUYERS

2.  Help 10 to 20 buyer clients save $1 million, as we did in 2006 (see client savings map).

How can you participate in the Million Dollar March?

Home Sellers:  If you're thinking of selling your home this spring, join us for one of our upcoming "For Sale By Owner" seminar entitled, "FSBOs on Steroids."

If you'd prefer to work with a traditional real estate agent we can also help you select an agent with our agent report card. If we refer you to a listing agent and they sell your property our referral fee rebate kicks in, both saving you money and helping to save lives.

Home Buyers:  If you're thinking of buying a home or condominium in 2008, read what the Wall Street Journal said about our fee-for-service / 100% rebate business model, and contact us.

Others:  Add your favorite cause or charity to our commission commission, particularly initiatives targeted at AIDS orphans, and post this widget on your Facebook profile, blog, or other social networking site.  Together, we can invite other real estate companies, plus thousands of home buyers and sellers to join the Million Dollar March.  Here's an example of the kind of pledge campaign you can start in your own community.

Our goal is to raise $1 million by World AIDS Day, December 1, 2008 by directing donations directly to a networkk of independent non-profit organizations providing help to AIDS orphans through an informal network we're creating called, "ASAP, AIDS Shelter Alliance Partners."

How to become a partner?

Request permission to see social networking strategy to recruit partners inside and outside the real estate industry.

Footnote:  During 2005, The Real Estate Cafe had hoped to compete against two other companies, one in Milwaukee, WI and another in Austin, TX. Other real estate companies, both traditional and new online business models, are also invited to learn more about joining our proposed annual, friendly competition: "Million Dollar March."
