Headline:  Real Estate Marathons

Whether you believe humans came about from evolution, intelligent design, or God’s hand, one thing is certain; we were hard-wired to push the envelope.  From a tee-pee to the Trump Tower; from nomadic hunter-gatherers, to trust fund-gatherers; and from bark to bidets, we have taken what was, and made it better.

It was in 490 BC, that an Athenian by the name of Pheidippides, with an army of Persians postured to attack off the coast of Marathon, Greece, ran 150 miles in two days to get help from the Spartans.  The Greeks were able to fend off the attack, and after a 26 mile run to Athens to report the victory, Pheidippides dropped dead.  So, in the natural trend of improvement, people began running the “marathon” and not dropping dead.  An improvement I concur, but centuries later, there we remain.  It’s time to improve the Marathon again.
