Q: Is the web a branding strategy?
Lebda: Online or offline, it's about what it costs to get a lead through the door. Now with search engine optimization it is much easier to generate leads. If you are an agent, you can leave lead generation to companies like LendingTree.
Q: The last time you were here, you were with Barry Diller. What's it like to give up your company?
Lebda: We began giving away the first time we took money from outside investors.
We are still losing $20 million per year in our real estate business. We knew we would need lot's of capital to get that started.
